The establishment of the Union of Municipalities of Slovenia is due to the fact, that in the present existence of the Republic of Slovenia working in Slovenian municipalities did not have its representative, which could confidently and credibly appear before the employer, and by requiring the provision of protection and rights, arising from the employment relationship and the rights in connection with work.
In Slovenia, there is still no collective agreement for the operation of the municipal, kljub temu, that the collective agreements of the Republic of Slovenia basis for determining the rights and obligations arising from employment. This certainly is an example of poor representation of the interests of all employees in the Slovenian municipalities.
Employees of Slovenian municipalities believe, the Trade Union of Municipalities of Slovenia can effectively work for our interests, as if acting for the interests of all employees in the public sector together. Just a few goals can be pursued together, the majority of it does not, as a way of forgetting the importance and effectiveness of all employees in municipalities and companies owned by municipalities. Our work will definitely quality, efficient and focused on those goals, which have not yet been achieved, but to work in this field is very important.
